With those words, Richard Roberts kicked off an explosive Miracle Healing Rally at Queensway Cathedral in Ontario, Canada. Working together with Queensway’s Pastor Billy Richard and an Oral Roberts Ministries team, Richard and Lindsay brought God’s healing power to the people of Toronto.
First, Lindsay encouraged those in attendance to fight the good fight of faith, using the mighty, spiritual weapons God has given us in Christ. (See page 10 for more of this message, which Lindsay also shared in Nicaragua.) Then, in an auditorium charged with expectation, Richard took the stage to preach on the power of God to heal.
Sending the Word for Healing
Knowing it is important for people to build up their faith to receive healing, Richard began by teaching on God’s healing power with Psalm 107:20 nkjv, He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. In his message, Richard explained that God’s Word is designed to give health, restoration, and life to anyone who receives it.
He then shared the story of the Roman centurion who caused Jesus to marvel at his faith by believing Jesus would heal his servant just by commanding it to happen. This soldier told Jesus, “I recognize Your authority is above all authority. So you don’t have to physically come to my home. All you have to do is speak the word, and my aide will be healed.” Through his faith, the soldier received exactly what he asked for. His servant was healed that very same moment.
And Jesus was thrilled at the soldier’s faith, saying in Luke 7:9 nkjv, “I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”
The evening’s message reminded everyone that God is ready and willing to pour out His healing power today, just as He promised He would in Psalm 107:20. And by the time Richard finished sharing God’s Word, the audience at Queensway Cathedral was ready to receive what God had for them.
Healed in a Clean Sweep Miracles, signs, and wonders manifested mightily throughout the Toronto crowd. Within minutes after Richard and Lindsay began praying, a line of people came forward to share how God had just healed them. Several people testified to receiving immediate healing from pain or other ailments. Among those who came forward was a woman who proclaimed, “I got a clean sweep!” She described several problems she had been having—a stress fracture in her left foot, a frozen shoulder, back pain, and even cataracts. “I could hardly stand when I came in tonight,” she shared, “but I can move now. I had disc problems, hip problems…It’s all gone. I can even see better.” Another attendee’s ears were healed the moment he arrived at the Healing Rally. Showing Richard and the crowd his hearing aids, he said, “These two hearing aids have not been in my ears since the beginning of this service. It was a miracle not to use them,” he said.
Perhaps the most amazing testimony of the night came from an older man attending the meeting with his family. Forty years earlier, he had been injured on the job, and his arm had atrophied as a result.
“My shoulder and arm were bent for 40 years,” he told the crowd. “I couldn’t turn my arm around. Now I can bend it!” Excited, he showed everyone what he could now do because of God’s healing power, with his family there to witness the miracle. Even after the service officially closed, people streamed down to the front to share how God had healed them that night or through another outreach of Oral Roberts Ministries…a man set free from crippling back problems…a woman healed of skin cancer… a man whose HIV diagnosis had been medically reversed…and many others.
As Richard noted, God is in the business of doing miracles. “God is a healing God,” he told the Toronto crowd. “What He did in Bible days, He’s still doing these days.” And that is truly good news!
1. As Richard lays his left hand on someone in prayer, as he did this man in Toronto, he often feels the “heat” of the Holy Spirit radiating through him for healing.
2. One woman came forward and told how she had experienced a “clean sweep” of healing—from a stress fracture in her left foot to a frozen shoulder, back pain and even cataracts. “It’s all gone!” she said.
3. God miraculously healed this man’s ears as he walked into the Healing Rally. His hearing aids were no longer needed.
4. One of the most amazing testimonies came from a gentleman whose arm and shoulder had been bent from an injury 40 years earlier: “I couldn’t turn my arm around. Now I can bend it!”
5. In an electrifying service, Richard encouraged the hungry crowd to reach out and claim the miracles they needed. “God is a healing God,” he proclaimed. “What He did in Bible days, He’s still doing these days.”
6. Not long after Richard and Lindsay began praying for this woman and others, people came forward to share how God had healed them.
